KineMan uses WebGL, the new web-compatible standard for 3D graphics. WebGL leverages your computer's graphics processing unit (GPU) to display realistic 3D light & shading effects, perspective, textures, and layering (compositing). With WebGL, you don't have to download and install any plug-ins, add-ons, or extensions - your browser takes care of all that. However, you have to use a WebGL-compatible browser, and adequate computer hardware, as outlined below. More about WebGL
KineMan is intended to work with Chrome & Firefox
browsers, as these are the most widely used
browsers offering WebGL compatibility. Note that other WebGL-compatible browsers are not currently
supported for KineMan use.
There is no distinct hardware requirement for KineMan operation. However, KineMan is a memory-intensive graphics app, which means it will work best on a high-end graphics, gaming, or scientific/engineering workstation, as these generally include a dedicated graphics processing unit (GPU), specifically designed for accelerated 3D rendering.
Modern desktop and laptop computers that don't have a dedicated GPU often include an 'integrated' graphics processor instead. With such hardware, 3D graphics displays can be generated, but KineMan motions may appear slow or jerky.
If your computer includes a dedicated GPU, and you can't get KineMan to work using Firefox or Chrome, please try upgrading the driver for your graphics card, to the latest version.
